What Are the Uses of Standard Ejector Pins?

2024-07-18

Standard ejector pins have many important uses in plastic molds.

1. Separating plastic products

Main function: The most basic and important use of standard ejector pins is to separate the molded plastic product from the mold. During the injection molding process, the plastic material is injected into the mold cavity and solidifies after cooling. Subsequently, the ejector pin applies force through the mold's ejection system to eject the solidified plastic product from the mold, thereby separating the product from the mold.

2. Through-hole function

Specific application: For carbide ejectors, such as tungsten steel ejectors, they can not only be used to separate products, but also to pass longer and thinner holes. This function is particularly important in applications that require precise control of hole diameter and hole depth, such as the processing of precision parts.

3. Stabilization

Application inside the mold: Standard ejector pins can also be used inside the mold to stabilize it. In this case, they are called insert pins. Insert pins are embedded in the mold to provide additional support and stability to ensure the normal operation of the mold under high pressure and high temperature environments.

4. Materials and performance

Material selection: Standard ejector pins are usually made of hot-working die steel, which has good heat resistance and wear resistance. After nitriding and other process treatments, the wear resistance of the ejector pin will be further enhanced, thereby extending its service life.

5. Comprehensive application

Mold integrity: As an important part of the mold, the performance and quality of standard ejector pins directly affect the overall performance of the mold and the molding quality of the product. Therefore, when selecting and using ejector pins, it is necessary to fully consider factors such as its material, size, precision and wear resistance.
